Itinerary of the Dolomites Summer Photo Tour
Day 1-3 Cortina D’Ampezzo, Val Pusteria, Cadore, Agordino
We’ll depart from Venice by midday. We strongly encourage to arrive the day before the photo tour and spend the night near Venice Airport (there are several accommodation options like Mariott Courtyard hotel or Best Western Titian). We will begin our journey together toward the area of Cortina d’Ampezzo, the town, heart of the Ampezzane Dolomites. After a scenic drive, we’ll arrive in our base for the first three nights, a hotel located in a strategic area for the locations.
Once checked in, we head straight into adventure, the first photo spot will be chosen according to the weather forecast that day, as for each of the locations there is the most appropriate weather condition.
Among the iconic locations, we will photograph Lago di Braies, a crystal-clear alpine lake surrounded by dramatic cliffs and larch trees that glow in autumn colors, the breathtaking Tre Cime di Lavaredo and the Cadini di Misurina, perfect with the low clouds and a misty mountains mood, Lago di Misurina, Passo Falzarego, Passo Giau. In addition, we’ll guide you to several exclusive, lesser-known locations that we’ve carefully scouted over the years, giving you the chance to capture unique images far from the crowds.
Lago di Misurina is one of the most enchanting lakes in the Dolomites, often called the “Pearl of the Dolomites” for its serene waters and breathtaking mountain backdrop. Surrounded by the Cadini, Sorapiss, and Tre Cime peaks, it offers endless opportunities for reflection shots, especially at sunrise and sunset when the colors of the sky paint the lake’s surface. On its shore stands the historic Grand Hotel Misurina, once a symbol of Belle Époque luxury. it was converted into a sanatorium in 1959 and became a renowned center for the treatment and rehabilitation of childhood asthma. The facility was permanently closed in 2022 due to declining patient numbers and financial challenges . The building still adds the touch of nostalgic charm of the grand hotel to the scene, evoking an atmosphere of timeless elegance that contrasts beautifully with the raw alpine landscape.

Day 4-7: Val Gardena, Val di Funes, Alpe di Siusi and more.
From Cortina, we continue our adventure westward, in South Tyrol, where there will be our base for the final three nights of the tour. Over the days, we’ll explore more of the South Tyrolean region’s treasures, including the fairytale village of Santa Maddalena in Val di Funes surrounded by the Odle group, rising dramatically into the sky. We will also visit other incredible places like Seceda, Alpe di Siusi, the 360 degrees spot Passo Gardena and many more. We’ll guide you through both iconic compositions and carefully scouted, lesser-known angles, giving you opportunities to create images that are both classic and uniquely your own.
On our final morning, we’ll enjoy one last sunrise session before transferring you back to Venice Airport. By then, you’ll be returning home not only with unforgettable memories but also with a portfolio of powerful images that capture the essence of the Dolomites.
Alpe di Siusi can be considered as one of the best sunrise locations of the alps as well, when the first light shines on the 3181 meter high Langkofel range. The morning often provides a thin layer of fog on the meadows, which is of course incredible for photography.
In summer, the rolling green meadows, dotted with rustic wooden huts and flowers in the foreground that create perfect subjects against the dramatic mountain backdrop.
In the early Morning, it’s perfect for the sunlight illuminating the hills and if there is even a little bit of mist, the atmosphere is even more magical!
Alpe di Siusi is one of the favorite spots of Isabella, because of the vastness of the hills and Langkofel towering the valley.
