The Dolomites are among the most photographed mountains in the world. But finding a beautiful location is only the beginning.
What transforms a photograph is knowing how to interpret the landscape: recognizing the relationship between foreground and background, anticipating the direction of the light, embracing changing weather, and discovering compositions others might overlook.
This is the philosophy behind our Dolomites Summer Photography Workshop.
Led by Isabella Tabacchi and Filip Hrebenda, this experience combines their creative perspectives, technical knowledge, and passion for mountain photography with extensive experience in the field.
Rather than following a rigid schedule, we adapt our photography sessions to the conditions. Mist drifting through the valleys, storm clouds gathering around the peaks, or the last warm light touching the mountains can turn a familiar view into something extraordinary.
Our goal is not simply to take you to the Dolomites. It is to help you return home with stronger photographs, new skills, and a different way of seeing the natural world.

Her approach goes beyond iconic viewpoints. You'll discover carefully selected compositions, seasonal foregrounds, and lesser-known photographic opportunities shaped by years of experience in these mountains.
2. Learn from two internationally awarded photographers
Isabella Tabacchi and Filip Hrebenda bring complementary creative approaches to landscape photography.
Throughout the workshop, you'll receive practical guidance on composition, working with natural light, camera techniques, and post-processing, with opportunities to ask questions and receive individual feedback.
3. Photograph the Dolomites at their most colorful
July brings lush alpine meadows, seasonal wildflowers, green valleys, and long summer days.
The contrast between delicate flowers and monumental mountain peaks creates some of the most compelling compositions in Alpine landscape photography.
We'll look for opportunities to photograph early morning mist, dramatic clouds, mountain reflections, warm evening light, and atmospheric weather.
4. Small-group learning, with photography as the priority
With a maximum of 12 participants and two photography leaders, the experience is designed to allow meaningful guidance and personal interaction.
You'll have time to refine your compositions, experiment with creative techniques, and develop your photographic style rather than simply moving from one viewpoint to the next.
5. Enjoy the journey without managing the logistics
Accommodations, private local transportation, and airport transfers are arranged, allowing you to concentrate on photography and enjoy the experience.
We will plan the daily photography sessions around the conditions and opportunities available, while keeping the itinerary flexible.

What Will You Photograph in the Dolomites?
Our route brings together some of the most recognizable landscapes of the Italian Alps and carefully selected locations that offer opportunities for more personal interpretations.
Alpe di Siusi — Wildflowers, Rolling Meadows and Alpine Light
Imagine a foreground of colorful summer flowers, gentle green hills, traditional wooden huts, and the dramatic silhouette of Sassolungo rising above the plateau.
Alpe di Siusi is one of Isabella's favorite places for landscape photography. Its layered scenery creates wonderful possibilities for foreground compositions, while changing morning light can reveal delicate textures and atmospheric depth.
We'll explore ways to use flowers, natural lines, and the mountain backdrop to build photographs that feel balanced, immersive, and original.
Tre Cime di Lavaredo — The Icons of the Dolomites
Few mountain formations are as recognizable as the Three Peaks of Lavaredo.
Their imposing rock faces and distinctive silhouettes provide an ideal setting for learning how to work with scale, contrast, and dramatic mountain light.
Depending on access and conditions, we will look for compositions that emphasize the character of these extraordinary peaks.
Lago di Braies — Mountain Reflections and Intimate Landscapes
Surrounded by steep mountains and dense forests, Lago di Braies offers opportunities for reflections, layered compositions, and quieter, more intimate landscape photographs.
We'll explore how to simplify complex scenes, use reflections creatively, and work with the changing atmosphere around the lake.
Passo Giau and Passo Falzarego — Dramatic Mountain Scenery
These spectacular mountain passes offer expansive views of the Dolomites, with rugged peaks, grassy slopes, and distinctive geological formations.
They are particularly exciting when shifting clouds and directional light create strong contrasts across the landscape.
Seceda and Val di Funes — Iconic Ridges and Alpine Villages
The dramatic ridgeline of Seceda and the beautiful scenery of Val di Funes offer two very different interpretations of the Dolomites.
From striking mountain geometry to peaceful pastoral landscapes framed by towering peaks, these areas provide exceptional opportunities to explore composition, perspective, and storytelling.
And the Locations You Might Not Expect
Some of the most rewarding photographs happen away from the famous viewpoints.
We will also explore lesser-known locations selected for their photographic potential, always taking access, weather, and local conditions into account.

Dolomites Summer Photography Tour Itinerary
Day 1 — July 7: Welcome to Italy and the Dolomites
Our journey begins with a group meeting and pickup at Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE), followed by a scenic drive into the Dolomites.
After settling into our accommodation, we'll introduce the group, discuss the photography opportunities ahead, and head out for our first session if travel time and conditions allow.
The exact location will be chosen according to the weather and available light.
Days 2–3 — July 8–9: Cortina d'Ampezzo and the Eastern Dolomites
Our first full photography days focus on the extraordinary landscapes surrounding Cortina d'Ampezzo, Val Pusteria, Cadore, and the Agordino area.
Potential photographic locations include Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Cadini di Misurina, Lago di Braies, Lago di Misurina, Passo Giau, and Passo Falzarego.
We will work on composition, the interpretation of natural light, foreground selection, and techniques for photographing dramatic mountain scenery.
Sunrise and sunset opportunities will guide our schedule whenever conditions are suitable.
Days 4–7 — July 10–13: Alpe di Siusi, Val Gardena and the Western Dolomites
We continue our journey toward the spectacular landscapes of South Tyrol.
This part of the workshop may include Alpe di Siusi, Seceda, Val di Funes, Passo Gardena, and other carefully selected photographic locations.
We'll concentrate on creative wildflower compositions, mountain panoramas, atmospheric conditions, and developing a distinctive visual approach.
Where the schedule allows, we'll also dedicate time to image review, post-processing advice, and discussion of the photographs created during the tour.
Day 8 — July 14: Final Photography and Return to Venice
Depending on the day's schedule, we may have time for a final morning photography opportunity before beginning our return journey.
We will transfer participants to Venice Marco Polo Airport, bringing our summer photography adventure to a close.
Itinerary flexibility: The itinerary is a guide and may be adjusted due to weather, access restrictions, transportation, or other operational considerations. Photography opportunities depend on natural conditions and cannot be guaranteed.

This is a photography-focused experience, not a conventional sightseeing tour.
Our guidance is adapted to participants' experience levels and the conditions encountered in the field.
Throughout the workshop, we'll explore:
Landscape composition: creating depth, balance, visual flow, and a clear subject.
Creative foregrounds: using wildflowers, natural textures, reflections, and leading lines.
Working with light: understanding sunrise, sunset, backlighting, clouds, and changing atmospheric conditions.
Camera techniques: exposure, depth of field, focusing, filters, and practical shooting methods.
Mountain photography: managing high-contrast scenes, large-scale landscapes, and unpredictable weather.
Post-processing: developing your artistic vision through editing, color, atmosphere, and image refinement.
Our aim is to help you create images that reflect your own vision rather than simply reproduce photographs you've seen before.

Isabella Tabacchi is an award winning landscape photographer, internationally recognized for her evocative, emotional, and dreamlike photographic style.
With over 12 years of experience photographing the Dolomites, Isabella Tabacchi knows these mountains intimately, from the iconic landmarks to the hidden corners that only locals discover. Her deep connection to the landscape allows her to guide participants not only to the best locations, but also to the best light and atmosphere each day.
Isabella is Fujifilm X-Photographer and Ambassador and DJI SkyPixel Creator, has been part of the Grand Jury of the Hasselblad Masters 2021, received the title of Photographer of the Year in Moscow International Foto Awards (MIFA).
Third prize winner in the International Landscape Photographer of the year 2020 and 2023, 1 place winner in the Xposure Awards in UAE, Top 10 Photos Winners in the DJI SkyPixel 9th Annual Photo & Video Contest.
Filip Hrebenda is a professional landscape photographer specializing in artistic photography of remote and mountainous landscapes. His work is characterized by the sensitive use of natural colors, dramatic light, and creative compositions that capture the unique atmosphere of the places he explores.
His photographs have received numerous international awards, including recognition at the DJI SkyPixel Contest, CEWE Photo Award, TIFA, BIFA, IPA, and many other prestigious photography competitions.
Since 2018, Filip has been organizing and leading photography workshops and expeditions around the world, sharing his knowledge and creative approach while helping participants develop their technical skills and artistic vision.
His work is supported by Hasselblad and DJI, and he is an ambassador for Vallerret and Focus Nordic.
